Eyecare USA is an affiliation of eye care providers and professional organizations whose common goal is excellence in eye care. We provide referrals to specialists in your area on request. We do not accept payment for referrals. These referrals are provided at no cost,  based solely on information available to us for the best available in your area.   If you need an eye doctor for services similar to those provided by the doctors of the Thornton Eye Center, and cannot find one in your area,  we will help you.  Please go to our Find a Doctor Page.     We are also affiliated with national and international organizations providing education and information on eye care.

 

  American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS): The premier organization of cataract and refractive surgeons providing continuing education in cataract and refractive surgery.   (Dr. Thornton is Past President of this organization. 

 

  American Academy of Ophthalmology: The world's largest organization of   ophthalmologists.  (Dr. Thornton, Dr. Hays, and Dr. Pilkinton are members of this organization, certified by its Board, lecture at its meetings and teach in its courses).

 

  International Refractive Surgery Club (IRSC):  The international organization of the world's leading refractive surgeons.  Membership is limited to those Ophthalmic Surgeons who have been chosen by their peers for their proficiency and skill in state-of-the-art methods of surgical correction for myopia (near sightedness), hyperopia (far sightedness), and astigmatism.   Members of this organization are recognized worldwide as leading teachers and specialists in eye surgery with lasers, implantable contact lenses and other advanced methods.

 

  Biosyntrx, Inc. : A company specializing in nutritional supplements for the eyes. Based in Lexington,SC, this company is guided by physicians who have an interest in wellness and prevention by nutritional means. Dr. Thornton is president of this company.
